Happy Trails Take 2.

I have lived in Colorado for approximately 5 years now, and still the views of this state never stop taking my breath away.

Today, Susan and I headed to Castlewood Canyon for our 2nd hike of the summer. {Learning from our previous hike, we decided to go south in order to avoid snow and slush.} The Canyon is located right past Castle Rock and is a state park so entrance fees run you $7.00 -- but the price is well worth the gorgeous scenery.

We combo-ed Rimrock Trail with Creek Bottom Trail to complete a 4 mile loop. It was a moderate hike with some ups and downs -- hard enough to make you feel tired, but happy.

It was a pretty hike for summer and offers quite a few spots of shade {always good for redheads on hot days in Colorado}, but I bet that foliage looks even better in the fall.
